Project Description: The new 13-Track, 52,000+ track-feet, on-dock intermodal facility is part of the Port of the Middle Harbor Terminal Development program to combine Piers E and F into a 350-acre mega-terminal. Project features include electrified wide-span, rail-mounted gantry cranes; 4,000+-foot-long crane beam foundations; OCR/AEI reader portals; in-ground compressed air; special trackwork including power switches and derails; train-in-motion system (TIMS); grading, paving, striping, and fencing; power swing gates; sewer, water, and storm drainage; and provisions for future automation.
